THE BODY HAS A DENT ON ONE SIDE. IT HAS ITS ORIGINAL FULL BROWN COVER ON IT WITH ITS ORIGINAL CARRY STRAP. THE STRAP HAS TWO STRIPES ALONG THE EDGES.THE ORIGINAL STOPPER IS HELD ON BY A PERIOD PIECE OF TWINE. THIS IS A VERY EARLY EXAMPLE OF A MAKER MARKED BULLSEYE CANTEEN THAT WAS MOST DEFINITELY CARRIED IN THE WAR!

ALL FLAPS HAVE THEIR ORIGINAL CLOSING TABS ON THEM. THE BACK OF THE BOX HAS BOTH BELT LOOPS ON IT. THIS BOX WAS MADE BEFORE THE BLAKESLEE BOX AND HELD 6 SLEEVES OF SPENCER 1860 CARTRIDGES. THE ORIGINAL TIN INSIDE HAS DIPS IN IT SO YOU WERE ABLE TO PICK UP THE SLEEVES OUT OF THE BOX. IT MEASURES 5 1/2 INCHES BY 5 1/2 INCHES & IS 2 1/2 INCHES DEEP.
