A SCARCE & EARLY CIVIL WAR SECONDARY MARTIAL BUTTERFIELD PERCUSSION ARMY REVOLVER IN UNTOUCHED CONDITION. SERIAL #254, ONLY 640 WERE MADE FROM 1861-1862. THE ORIGINAL U.S. GOVERNMENT CONTRACT WAS FOR 2,280 GUNS BUT WAS CANCELLED SO ONLY 640 WERE MADE. THE REVOLVER HAS UNTOUCHED METAL & BRASS WITH GOOD EDGES. THE MARKINGS ARE ALSO GOOD. THE BARREL, LOADING LEVER, HAMMER, & CYLINDER HAVE A NICE DARK PATINA ON THEM. THE CYLINDER SHOWS SOME ROUGHNESS AS SHOWN. ALL OF THE BRASS ON THE GUN IS VERY GOOD WITH AN UNTOUCHED DARKENING PATINA ON IT. THE PELLET PRIMER ON THE BOTTOM IS ALSO ORIGINAL.  THE GRIPS ARE NICE THROUGHOUT. IT HAS A GOOD ACTION. THIS IS A GOOD & UNTOUCHED EXAMPLE OF A SECONDARY MARTIAL BUTTERFIELD PERCUSSION REVOLVER!
