AN EARLY & DESIRABLE U.S. CIVIL WAR 1ST MODEL LINDNER PERCUSSION CARBINE IN VERY NICE CONDITION. ONLY 892 OF THE 1ST TYPE WERE MADE FROM 1861-1863. ALL ORIGINAL & COMPLETE. THE CARBINE HAS NICE METAL, MARKINGS, & EDGES. ALL OF THE METAL ON THE GUN IS IN THE WHITE & HAS BEEN LIGHTLY CLEANED. ALL MARKINGS ARE CLEAR & EDGES ARE VERY GOOD. THE LATCH ON THE BREECH IS MISSING ITS SPRING BUTTON. THE WOOD ON THE CARBINE IS NICE THROUGHOUT WITH GOOD EDGES & A CLEAR U.S. INSPECTORS CARTOUCHE ON THE TOP OF THE COMB NEXT TO THE BUTT PLATE. IT HAS A FINE BORE & NICE ACTION. IN 1861 391 CARBINES WERE ISSUED TO THE 1ST MICJHIGAN CAVALRY. IN 1863 501 WERE ISSUED TO THE 8TH WEST VIRGINIA MOUNTED INFANTRY. THIS IS A NICE LOOKING EXAMPLE OF A HARD TO FIND & WELL USED U.S. CIVIL WAR LINDNER CARBINE!
